Breguet previews the Tradition Dame in rose gold

Last year Breguet celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Tradition line, and this year’s Baselworld was the debut of the first women’s model in the range, the Tradition Dame. Ahead of Baselworld 2017 at the end of March, Breguet has just announced a rose gold version of the Tradition Dame.
As with last year’s white gold version, the 37mm watch features a hand-engraved barrel in the centre of the dial (or more accurately, dial side). It’s decorated with a rosette motif that is then repeated on the oscillating weight visible through the caseback.

The idea to showcase the main components of the movement came from Breguet’s subscription pocket watches of the late 18th century – single-hand timepieces that were relatively easy to produce and sold on a subscription basis. The launch of the Tradition rather set the trend for exposed movements in the 21st century.
On the rose gold Tradition Dame, the off-centre mother-of-pearl dial is white this time rather than grey, decorated with Clous de Paris guilloché. Both bridges and the mainplate visible on the dial side are rhodium-plated and unobtrusively frosted.

There’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it retrograde seconds hand top left – all three hands on the watch, including the Breguet-tipped hour and minute hands, are rose gold. The bezel is set with 68 diamonds atop the fluted caseband.
Inside is the Calibre 505SR, which has a lever escapement equipped with silicon pallets and a silicon balance spring, along with a 50-hour power reserve. A price is yet to be announced.
